Be kind...

Yup. I watched the newly {much anticipated?!} Cinderella movie...

It was... as predicted.

Anyway, I did like what the mother would tell Ella. "Have courage, and be kind."

Mothers. Have courage. And be kind!

In the course of my eight years (and five months) of being a parent, I’ve come across a lot of people who have told me what I’m doing wrong. In fact, I can guarantee that I have come across more people that tell me what I’m doing wrong rather than what I’m doing right. Every day I’m met with far more put-downs than praises.

I just read an article that said, "Can’t we finally come to terms with the fact that most of the parents in the world are truly doing what they believe is best for their kids and stop telling them otherwise?"

In my eight years (and five months) of being a "Momma", "Mommy" and "Mom," I know that whether I’m doing a great job with my kids or not is almost irrelevant. I am doing the BEST I can- and I am learning more and more everyday. And my best is all that matters. Some lessons are lessons I wish I had learned years earlier, and some lessons I learn right on cue... But as long as I am doing the very best that I can, and consciously seek to find answers and to improve, then I am doing perfect.

Lesson number one: they are kids! And we are parents. Parents that are capable of making the best decisions for our children. Parents that will sometimes make the wrong choice, but can and will use it as a learning experience. Parents that don’t need anyone else telling them what they are doing wrong, but instead, more people telling them what they’re doing right.

Encouragement!!

Lesson number two: Mothers need constant encouragement! We are forgetful, and will start to forget how great we are, and what "naturals" we are at being mothers!

Next time you see a frazzled mom in the grocery store, desperately trying to entertain her kid before he launches into a full-fledged meltdown, remember you are only seeing a portion of their story. Leave the judgement and unwanted advice behind and instead just whisper some words of encouragement her way...

No. SHOUT those words of encouragement . She might not her you over her child's crying.. 😉

Footprints...

... I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me." The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you."
